Who doesn’t love the weekend? At least for me, it is like a mini vacation where I get myself rejuvenated before Sunday night approaches and then the weekday cycle begins again. So during the weekend my beauty sleep is important to me followed by a yummy meal. That’s where brunch comes in: I love the eggs, bacon and what-have-you that comes with breakfast.

On today’s series, my friend and I went to Dallas for a 3-day weekend in celebration of Martin Luther King’s day and we took the opportunity to explore brunch places in downtown Dallas.  I found this place called City Hall Bistro on google with food pictures that looked yummy, beautiful décor, yet it had two-dollar sign on the review. We probably thought it was too good to be true and sought out on a journey to investigate this brunch place.

The location: The City Hall Bistro is inside of The Adolphus, Autograph Collection Hotel which is in downtown Dallas. Initially, we didn’t realize that it was inside a hotel, so we sped past it in search of parking (looking for parking in big cities is always a chore). We found a parking spot a few blocks away and then set out on foot to the restaurant.

The Experience: The interior of the hotel looked so luxurious that I immediately felt under dressed to dine there, but we had come this far and were not about to throw in the towel. The friendly hotel staff directed us to the restaurant location, and we were ushered into a spa-like ambiance of white walls and neutral color accents. The gregarious hostess asked about our parking and quickly informed us that valet parking was free for customers. If only we knew this piece of information earlier! Well, the menu came and we made our selections (the prices were not outrageous). I had the Classic breakfast with a blueberry muffin and latte; my friend had Brioche French toast. The food was brought out in a timely manner and both meals had an exquisite taste.

Coffee Shop: On our way out we spotted a coffee shop called Otto’s Coffee and Fine Foods and decided to check it out as well.
